Register
Online Registration involves three steps: -
- Selecting a username and password, e-mail address and uploading the CV.
The user name is a unique identifier for the member. The e-mail address is stored for future correspondence and is not available to any other organisation. CAOS UK may send you infrequent e-mailings to alert of conferences, courses and organisational changes. CV should be in RTF, PDF or MS WORD doc formats. For an explanation of why a CV is required, please view the Terms and Conditions.
- Choosing and paying for a subscription type.
Annual subscription for this organisation is currently £100 GBP for standard members, and £50 for trainees. Trainees are those who are in a training programme, e.g. junior doctors, or those undertaking research leading to a PhD. Payment using credit card or debit card is accepted. This payment is non-refundable (but see below).
- Receiving confirmation.
Application does not guarantee acceptance, and is depependant of a demonstration of interest/involvement in Computer Aided Orthopaedic Surgery. This is evaluated by the admission committee using the uploaded CV. In the unlikely event however that the committee is unable to accept an applicant as a members, a full refund is provided.
Terms and Conditions of Membership
- Eligibility
- Any one who is interested in the development of computer aided orthopaedic surgery is eligible for membership.
- This includes a variety of disciplines like orthopaedic surgeons and trainees, non training orthopaedic doctors, basic scientists, computer engineers, industry, research fellows, institutions, Allied health professionals. This should potentiate and not adversly affect the main principle and objective of a scientific unbiased development of computer aided orthopaedic surgery.
- The application will be reviewed by the executive members and provisional membership granted if deemed fit. Final approval will be by next coming GBM.
- Requirements
- Application is by submission of application form and CV(On line or by post). The CV is required to provide us with extended contact information, information about your practice and degreee of involvement in CAOS, and helps us select people for future contribution to CAOS UK activities. The member's privacy is respected, and the CV is not made available to any third party. Application does not guarantee acceptance.
- The application will be reviewed by the executive members and provisional membership granted if deemed fit. Final approval will be by next coming GBM.
- Payment of appropriate subscription fees
- Responsibilities
- Members must declare interests and affiliations, both commercial and non-commercial.
- Members must act with professional courtesy in matters related to this organisation and its fraternity of members.
- Any anti organisation activities may lead to cancellation of membership and other disciplinary action as seen fit by the executive board.
- Members are invited to contribute to the knowledge base, and to the dissipation of this technology to other members.
- Members must not infringe copyright rules, and must recognise intellectual property rights of others.
- CAOS UK will not be held liable for activities of members. Our liability to the member is limited to the cost of the registration fee.
- Privileges
- Members are informed of Congress and Courses organised by CAOS UK, and are able to attend at reduced rates
- Members have access to the CAOS UK e-journal when established. They have access to an expanding pool of learning resources.
- Members come from all fields involved in CAOS, and are rapidly able to share and acquire knowledge, ideas, techniques and technologies.
